This book is about biologist Stacey O'Brien and her 19 year relationship with Wesley, a barn owl she met when he was only four days old. Being a wildlife biologist, she learned first-hand about every aspect of owl rearing and behavior. Through out the book, the reader learns a lot about Wesley's idiosyncrasies and personality. A fast, entertaining read.

The Newbury winning book is The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. Gaiman is a prolific author of books for teens and adults. The Graveyard Book is fast reading, exciting and very imaginative. Enough creepy parts keeps it spooky and the characters, usually portrayed as scary, are believable and likeable. Great vocabulary and language. I'd recommend it to anyone from 10 to 100.
